Learning Rights, Helping Responsibilities

I can tell the difference between a classroom right and a responsibility.

Let’s get started

Rights help make our learning space fair. Responsibilities are ways we help protect it.

Learn together

  1. A learner has the right to be safe and treated respectfully.
  2. A learner has the responsibility to treat others respectfully and use materials carefully.
  3. Discuss what fairness looks like when people need different kinds of help.

Example to explore

Right: ask questions • Responsibility: listen to others

Try it yourself

  1. Which is a learner’s right?
  2. Which is a responsibility?
  3. Name a right and an action you can take to protect it.

Hands-on project

Create a two-column welcome guide: three rights on the left and matching responsibilities on the right.

Reflect and grow

Why do rights and responsibilities belong together?
