One Complete Thought

I can write a sentence with a capital letter and ending punctuation.

Let’s get started

A sentence tells a complete thought. A capital letter starts it, and punctuation finishes it.

Learn together

  1. Think of something you know about your day.
  2. Write the idea using words in a complete thought.
  3. Check for a capital at the beginning and a period or question mark at the end.

Example to explore

My dog likes to run.

Try it yourself

  1. Which sentence is written correctly?
  2. What punctuation finishes “I can jump__”?
  3. Write a complete sentence about what you enjoy.

Hands-on project

Write three sentences and draw pictures to make a “My Day” flipbook.
